CLOUDSCAPE: 'Almost' Done Recording Sophomore Album

February 4, 2006

Swedish metallers CLOUDSCAPE entered RoastingHouse studio in Malmö, in late December with producers Anders "Theo" Theander and Pontus Lindmark to begin recording their sophomore album, "Crimson Skies", tentatively due in Europe in June 2006 via Metal Heaven. Artwork will be handled by Mattias Norén. "There's only guitar solos left to record," the band write on their web site. "Pontus Lindmark will start the mixing during next week so, everything is working according to plan."

In other news, CLOUDSCAPE frontman Mike Andersson has finished recording vocals for the Swiss project-band SILENT MEMORIAL's second album. The CD will be mixed and mastered in the RoastingHouse studio sometime in late spring or early summer 2006. Release dates are yet to be confirmed since SILENT MEMORIAL are currently searching for a suitable record label to release the album.

SILENT MEMORIAL released their debut album in 1998 in Asia with Thomas Vikstrom (STORMWIND, BRAZEN ABBOT, ex-CANDLEMASS) on vocals.

Also on the CLOUDSCAPE-related front, Mike handled the lead vocals on one song on the Dutch guitarist Marcel Coenen's (SUN CAGED) recently released solo album, entitled "Colour Journey". A release party for this album was held in Weert, The Netherlands on January 28, where all musicians involved in the album appeared live on stage. According to a posting on the CLOUDSCAPE web site, the show "went really great and the feedback was fantastic, so watch out for a live DVD release from the concert later this year (sometime during the fall)."
